As you may know, Stoke on Trent City Council are proposing to close the museum unless it can be converted into a charitable trust or similar.

The Etruria Industrial Museum Volunteers are exploring the possibility of conversion into a trust, although this could have a serious impact on our ability to open so frequently. It could also impact on the museum’s ability to maintain its current levels of activity in respect of education, events, conservation and much else.

The implications of actual closure for such a unique site are too depressing to even contemplate.
